Bye, bye EU, hello World.

I’m not about to launch into the pros and cons of Brexit or reflect upon Britain’s twisted relationship with the EU, not me. What I’m actually referring to is our new internet domain in this my first post. Ever since we have had an online presence at Positive the domain has been .eu. As we’re about to Brexit, now really is the perfect time to update our image and sharpen focus – a fresh coat of paint so to speak.

Coincidently, I just received an email about EU domain name ownership. It states that EURid (European Registry for Internet Domains) has decided that anyone without an EU postal address (that includes us) will no longer be able to own a .eu domain once the UK leaves the EU. Furthermore, if the UK exits with no deal on March 30, 2019 all such domains will be terminated immediately.

You’ll find plenty of examples of our work in our portfolio section to back this up. There’s also a Shop section which features a modest collection of popular and some unusual items we brand for clients in the sector, we’ll be adding more over the coming months. Welcome to our blog

My name is Ken Powell, Executive Director and founder of Positive Marketing. Since 2002 we have worked extensively with business schools, universities and executive training organisations, both big and small, here in the UK and internationally. Since 2013 we have pretty much focused all our efforts in the management development sector, offering a bespoke resource that includes industry expertise to inform our insights and perspectives and help us meet the challenges of marketing management development today. I’d like to think our experience counts and we have something worth saying other like-minded individuals in our industry will be interest to hear.

I’d like this blog to be a forum where we can meet, a place to participate, express opinions, exchange and debate all aspects of management development and marketing. Everyone is welcome, although it’s worth remembering our reach encompasses marketers and practitioners involved in executive education, management development or post-experience programmes within business schools, universities and independent training organisations. If you like the idea behind our soapbox become involved from the get-go, drop me a line or leave a comment below – thanks.
